Wild Horses Wins PHRF:NS Division - 166th NYYC Annual Regatta

Nearly 100 boats gathered in Narragansett Bay during the weekend of October 2-4, 2020 for what continues to be the oldest annual regatta in North America.

The 166th New York Yacht Club Annual Regatta started with an Around-The-Island race on Friday, then switched to two days of buoy racing in the bay in order to tally in another 3 races.

Wild Horses, the W-76 class yacht helmed by Donald Tofias, took this regatta by storm. Winning the ATI race by 8 minutes on corrected time, and then smashing the second half of the regatta by posting a 1-1-3, Wild Horses won their PHRF division with authority.

Owner Donald Tofias credits great crew work and SeaDek on their regatta win: "Eight years ago I slipped and fell during a maneuver on board. Severed nearly every tendon and ligament at my knee. Now with SeaDek, we don't worry about slipping on the deck, we don't worry about tripping over lines or falling down on our knees. The crew can focus on maneuvers and I can focus on steering the boat in the direction we need to go."

Wild Horses is a modern classic by every metric, and the "Classic Comfort" of genuine SeaDek matches that standard in every way by combining the classic look of teak with the high-tech modern materials, construction, and non-slip hold that SeaDek is known for.

From modern classics to high performance TP52's, SeaDek is the marine decking of choice in the Newport sailing scene.
